How to Combat Dehydration
Could You Be Dehydrated?
Several years ago I got some labs done from @drjoshredd and it showed I was severely dehydrated. I was like🤷♀️😳 ! How could that be when I was drinking close to a gallon of water a day??? I learned it was because my minerals were very depleted. Being as active as I was, this was a big deal….. I was running a ton, training for a marathon, and very active.
Focusing on electrolyte balance can affect inflammation in great ways. Here’s some ways they can help.
⚡ Cellular Function
Proper electrolyte balance is essential for cellular function, which can help reduce cellular stress and inflammation.
⚡ Hydration
Electrolytes help maintain fluid balance, ensuring that the body stays properly hydrated. This hydration is crucial for keeping tissues healthy and reducing inflammation.
⚡ pH Balance
Electrolytes help regulate the body’s pH levels. This balance can significantly influence inflammation levels, as an imbalanced pH can exacerbate inflammatory responses.
⚡ Muscle Function
Proper electrolyte levels support muscle function. The prevention of muscle cramps can help reduce localized inflammation, promoting overall comfort and mobility.
⚡ Antioxidant Production
Some electrolytes, such as magnesium, play a key role in the production of antioxidants. These antioxidants are essential for combating oxidative stress and inflammation.
⚡ Immune Function
Electrolytes like zinc and magnesium are crucial for supporting proper immune function. This role in immune regulation is essential for controlling inflammation.
⚡Detoxification
Electrolytes support kidney function and aid in detoxification processes, facilitating the elimination of inflammatory toxins from the body.
All of this goes to say that incorporating electrolytes into your daily routine is not just about staying hydrated or preventing muscle cramps—it’s about supporting fundamental aspects of your health! Taking them regularly can be a proactive step towards a healthier, more balanced life.
Are electrolytes part of your daily health regimen? There are many electrolytes out there or you can put a pinch of sea salt in your water for a similar result. I have linked my favorite Electrolytes from Just Ingredients below.
